Obituary of Delores Goehring

A private, family service will be held for Delores Goehring. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Windom, Minnesota. Delores Goehring, 84, of Milford, Iowa died March 7, 2020 at the Accura HealthCare Facility of Milford. Delores Jean Goehring was born June 3, 1935 in Slayton, Minnesota to Wilhelm “Bill” and Minnie (Rummens) Vosberg. She attended school through the 9th grade at Slayton Public Schools. In her youth, she was often known as “Dee” or “Dort.” On December 22, 1954, she married Ernest Edward Goehring at the Presbyterian Church in Slayton, Minnesota. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Upon marriage, she followed “Ed” to Pierre, South Dakota where he started his career with the telephone company. His career also took them to Aberdeen, Sisseton, Harrisburg and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Most recently, they moved to Milford, Iowa to be near family. While most of her life, she was a homemaker, she did work in a dress shop and nursing home as well. She was often active in her community and was honored to be the President of the Pierre Jayceettes and the Sisseton American Legion Auxiliary Commander. She also loved her bowling league and snowmobiling club. Her hobbies included camping, crocheting, watching sports, and playing cards. She loved following her children, grandchildren, and great grand childrens activities and in the last eleven years, her warm smile could often be found at Okoboji School events. She was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls, donuts, chocolate cake and molasses cookies. Grateful for having shared her life are the couples three children, 9 grand children and 9 great grandchildren. Rhonda Goehring of Spokane, Washington and her children: Jeremy, Shawna, and Joshua; Randy (Brenda) Goehring of Spokane, Washington and their children: Alex, Brandon, and Chelsea; Scott (Teresa) Goehring of rural Milford, Iowa and their children: Gabriel, Grace and Allison; 9 great grandchildren: Jada Morales, Aliyah Willliams, Olivia Williams, Logan Williams, DeAndre Williams, Shyesha Williams, David McKinzy, Alonzo Williams, and Antonio Williams; her sisters: Mary (Eldon) Wiens, Beverly (Jerry) Noram; her brother: Ronald “Tyke” Vosberg; her sister-in-law Claris Nord; brother-in-law Curtis (Mary Lou) Goehring and many nieces, nephews, and cousin’s. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilhelm “Bill” and Minnie Vosberg; her brother Darold “Honey” Vosberg; brother-in-law Jerry Nord and her parents-in-law Ernest Gustof and Gladys Goehring.
