I had lots of interactions with Bill, going back to APHS days. He coached some basketball in Junior High, stepped in to teach in some classrooms, was always willing to meet while he was Superintendent. After getting out of school, I ran into him often throughout the years. He was always so proud of all former APHS students, and the wonderful things they we all went on to do. He loved to talk golf, and spoke often of his family. He will be missed!

Janelle and Family,
So sorry to learn of Bill's passing. Always enjoyed working with Bill. Good conversation and you always learn could learn something from Bill. Also to this day some of my favorite Fishing Lures are those black and white haired lead head jigs he used to tie. Caught many fish a fish with them, as I am sure did Bill, who was a good fisherman! Good golfer also. Bill will be missed but not forgotten by me as well as many others.
So sorry for your loss.

We really enjoyed our visits with Bill through the years at Calvary UMC. He has been and will always be missed by his church family. He could always be counted on for a joke or a fun story. Darrel & Cheryl

When one of my friends read Dad's obituary, she said "Now I see where you got your outstanding work ethic" and she's right... along with "whatever you do, give it your all." We also knew the depth of your love for us every single day of our lives. We were so blessed to have you as our Dad and beyond blessed to have you with us as long as we did. Love you always and forever.

There was never a "Dull Moment" when the Fredin Brothers got together. They were all successful in their lives and always had an exiting story to tell. They enjoyed several Family Reunions over the years where there was always "Story & Tail Telling".
I was always close to my Uncle's Bill & Ell as they lived close to us at Rossie, Iowa.
Bill was always asking how my Baseball was going and how my Go Kart was running. He told me several times that I should play Basketball-"now that's a SPORT". I remember him asking me to bring my Go Kart to the Park Kiddieland Go Kart track and turn a few laps- We had business until Midnight that night.
I will never forget how "greatful" my Dad (Vince) was that Uncle Bill took him on a trip to the West Coast after my Stepmother died so that they could see their Brothers one last time. They made that trip-another story of exitment-as the Fredins' were famous for. Dad said that he let Bill drive all of the time because he made good time. Dad said he had never flown so low & fast in his life.
We still chuckle at our education as Bill & Ell would say they were "Manual Arts Teachers", I was an
"Industrial Arts Teacher" and my son "Bill" was an "Industrial Technology Teacher". All one in the same.
To all of the memories we have: Terry & Karen Fredin

I never tired of hearing about the antics of grandpa Vince and his brothers! Working in Spirit Lake I would once in awhile run into somebody who would ask if I was related to Bill and they always had kind things to say about him (even if he was tough on them at school).

What a guy. Bill was my basketball coach all through Royal High School along with taking us to Girls State Basketball 3 years in a row. We did bring home a 3rd place win after losing a triple overtime the night before by 2 points. What good years we had--he was tough and if we didn't do what we were told you were off the team. Bill never forgot us. After Bill and Janelle moved into the Okoboji area he found that Chuck and I lived here in Milford. We have had contact over the years. As Bill was driving bye he always stopped in for short visits. Told Chuck he better be good to me as I was one of his best ball players (:) He was so kind to me when Chuck had his bad accident and was always calling or stopping and asking how Chuck was doing. After Bill was entered into Accura Nursing Home Karen (McCarthy) Kamradt and I would stop to visit and first thing he would get after he figured out who we were he grabbed that book. This was a great thing for him and was fun to look at it with him. He was proud. Will never forget my days of High School, Basketball and Bill Fredin. Sending our love and Sympathy to all.
Chuck and Donna (Christensen) Tielbur. Milford IA

Mr. Fredin was my coach and a great teacher. He was tough but was always cheering us on. I suppose he and Mr. Eckart will review our game against Everly and decide what we should have done to win. They were both such good coaches and men. They will both be missed.
