Obituary of Phyllis Lago

A private family service will be held for Phyllis Lago, age 90, of Spirit Lake. Memorials may be sent to the family at 921 27th Street, Spirit Lake, IA 51360.

Phyllis Ann Lago, the daughter of Bertha (Walker) and Herbert Fronk, was born June 23, 1929 in Lake Park, Iowa. After she graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1948, she attended Iowa State Teachers College.

On November 11, 1950, Phyllis was married to Donald Lago in Jackson, Minnesota. Don and Phyllis farmed on their family farm near Montgomery for fifty-three years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake, United Methodist Women's Group, Eastern Star and was a part of the women's bowling league.

Phyllis enjoyed flowers, plants, animals and all things related to the farm. She also enjoyed being at the "lake" and hosting many family gatherings at the cottage on Big Spirit. She was extremely proud of her family and loved watching and cheering on her children and grandchildren at their events.

Phyllis passed away June 7, 2020 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at ninety years of age.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Reiman, Larry Lago and his wife, Marcie, John Lago, Doug Lago and his wife, Amy; grandchildren, Dan Reiman, Lisa Reiman, Austin Lago and his wife, Laura, Ashley Follett and her husband, Rob, Morgan Magni and her husband, Brandon, Madison Lago, Taylor Doyle and her husband, Justin, Lauren Ramirez and her husband, Oscar, Ellie Lago; great-grandchildren, Addyson Lago, Greyson Lago, Henry Follett, Lily Follett, Easton Magni and Braxton Magni; brother, Harold Fronk and his wife, Sunny; niece, Beth Will and her husband, Trent along with their children.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Don and her parents.
