One of my favorite memories was when we were visiting the DeJongs and Ruth and Dad began discussing all the crazy trends that teachers were supposed to use. It was always the 'latest and greatest from California'. Ruth would fill out the proper paperwork but she always used the method she was taught in college. What do you know? One of the latest and greatest from California turned out to be the method Ruth had used all along. My sympathy to Jake and the family. Remember her beautiful smile and the joy she brought to others. Jake and family, my prayers are with you all. I just learned of Ruth's passing and wanted you all to know the little bit of time I was able to spend with Ruth and your family in Worthington MN is cherished and the video memorial to Ruth was endearing! Jake our sympathy and prayers are lifted for you and your family. Ruth will always be remembered for her loving big eyes, eternal smile and fun-loving outlook! We will forever cherish the friendship that we totally enjoyed. There was that magnetism of trying to spend time together wherever we were with the highlight being on the Alaskan cruise! She truly will be missed. We can look forward to spending eternity together in a perfect place! Hallelujah!!

Jake & family, we were sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. may God grant you grace and peace as you grieve her death. At Annville Dick remembers that tiny house in the middle of campus that the green horn lonely single teacher spent many evenings in your home reading your Quarter Horse Journals. He usually stayed too long but you were too kind to send him home. Ruth was very patient and tolerated this frequent visitor with a gracious heart. We always enjoyed the beautiful duets you and Ruth sang at our little Annville Church. Sorry we have lost touch these last several years but be assured that you will be in our prayers. I was so sorry to hear about Ruth's passing. I hadn't realized we shared the same birthday, I'm only one year younger. It's been quite a few years since we spent time together, but all my memories are of a wonderful woman, mom, and wife. I remember you, Jake, telling me about this wonderful girl who capured your heart all those years ago. I know how much you will miss her. It's been three years since Bill died and we still talk every day and he's with me in the garden he nurtured so many years. Memories of love will get you through the loneliness.
