Obituary of David Croft
A funeral service for David Croft, age 70, of Okoboji, will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15th from 5:00-6:00PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

David Bruce Croft, the son of Jean Lavonne (Andrews) and Duane Lee Croft, was born January 22, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. David attended school in Fort Dodge and moved to Okoboji, Iowa with his parents in 1980. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
David was a loving, faithful person. In later years, he enjoyed listening to church services on the radio on Sunday mornings. He loved to play his favorite hymns on his organ and did so beautifully. He had many hobbies, but number one was being with his family and cooking for them at family gatherings. David was a great cook and many family and friends wanted his recipes. He often baked cookies and cakes for special occasions, especially family birthdays.
David had a special fondness for children, especially his nieces and nephews and their little ones. He never forgot a birthday, and always managed to pick out the funniest, cutest card available! He loved to make each one afghans in their special colors, and even made them as gifts for others.
David had such a big heart and wanted to be friendly with everyone he met. It was easy to see that David loved people. David enjoyed collecting miniature lighthouses, and would proudly display them at night in his room. Over the years, he assembled a nice collection, even a clock lighthouse, which sounded off in the living room regularly!
David passed away September 11, 2020 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy years of age. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his brother, Dan Croft (Jenny) of Milford, Iowa; his sister, Donna Grady (Dan) of Lake Park, Iowa; niece Lisa Hemann of Phoenix, Arizona; nephew, Tony Hemann of Phoenix, Arizona; nephew, Chad Croft (Hollie) of Windermere, Florida; nephew, Chase Croft (Maricela) of Spirit Lake, Iowa and nephew, Taylor Croft of Lake Park, Iowa.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Duane Lee Croft and Jean Lavonne Croft.
