Obituary of Gertrude Noordhoek

Gertrude Noordhoek was born March 17, 1925 in Archer, Iowa, the daughter of Leendert and Tracy (DeJager) Noordhoek. In 1940 the family moved to a farm north of West Lake Okoboji. Gertrude worked at George Jaacks Egg Plant earlier in life and also worked in manufacturing at Pure Fishing for many years.. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake, where she helped teach third grade Sunday School. Gertrude enjoyed music, especially playing the organ and piano. She also enjoyed upholstery, her flower garden as well as painting and other artwork. Gertrude passed away September 12, 2010 at her home in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-five years of age. She is survived by her sister, Alice Crosby; brother, Mark Noordhoek, both of Spirit Lake; one aunt, Johanna Segaar (Herman) of Brooten, Minnesota; one niece, one nephew and other relatives and friends.
