Obituary of Lenora Jo Habur
Lenora Josephine Halbur was born to Joseph and Helen (Wood) Lowry at Superior, Iowa on December 20, 1928She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School at Larchwood, Iowa.
On May 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence J. Halbur at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford and seven children were born to this union.
Jo was a devoted homemaker. She also was actively engaged in the farming activities, especially raising dogs from 1969 to 1982.
Mrs. Halbur passed away Friday, December 2nd, 2011 at the Milford Nursing Center at 82 years of age.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Catholic Daughter's of America. Jo delivered Meals on Wheels for many years after moving into town. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved to care for flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Halbur of Milford, six children John (Loretta) Halbur of Milford, Carol (Tim) Kester of Clearwater, NE, Gerald (Ann) Halbur of Hilliard, FL, Richard (Yvonne) of Hinesville, GA, Earl (Tinna) Halbur of Hartley, IA and Florence Taplin of San Antonio, TX; 26 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren. Survivors also include sisters, Ethel (Oral) Wilson of Milford, and Mary (Art) Hamrick of Spencer, IA; brothers, Harvey (Virginia) Lowry of Blaine, MN and John Erdman of Fostoria, IA; and sister-in-law, Joyce Spieker of Spirit Lake, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son James, grandson, Steffen Taplin, great granddaughter, Chloe Kester and brother, Francis Erdman.
