Obituary of Jeanne Arp
Jeanne Adell Tay was born on September 15, 1926, in Boone, II, to Florence (Whitney) and M. Owen Tay. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1944, and married Marvin Arp on May 29, 1945. They lived In Okoboji until 1960, then in Sioux Falls, SD, for the next thirty years. There she pursued a college education and was a librarian at the Children's Library.
After Marvin's retirement, they returned to Spirit Lake in 1991. They enjoyed traveling, and spent several winters in TX and AZ. She loved her family, playing cards and keeping in touch with friends via e-mail, and the Iowa Great Lakes area, and dogs. She also did extensive genealogy volunteering.
Jeanne passed away June 14, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-three years of age.
Survivors include daughter, Marva Jeanne (Gene) Taylor of Adrian, MN; son, Leslie (Neva) Arp of Jefferson, Iowa; five grandchildren: Curt (Kristy), Marty, and Jay Taylor, all of Adrian; Sean (Jessica) Arp of Armonk, New York; and Shannon (Joe) Beelner of Ankeny, Iowa; six great-grandsons; and a sister, Charlene (Rodney) Graham of Lake Park, IA.
Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons and grandson-in-law.
