Obituary of Paul Braunschweig

Paul Braunschweig, Jr. was born August 9, 1927 in Waterman Township, Iowa in O'Brien County to Paul Braunschweig Sr. and Bertha (Gieser) Braunschweig. Paul grew up in rural Sutherland. He was baptized in infancy at the Lutheran Church in Sutherland. He received his education in rural O'Brien County. He married Marilyn Mae Fogelman on August 24, 1949 in Jackson, MN. To this union of marriage were born three daughters, Dianna Lynn, Suzanna Kay and Karilyn Jean. They farmed for many years near Sutherland, Alta and Webb, Iowa. They managed the Edgewater Plaza Condos from 1984 to 1989. In 1989 they moved to their house on East Lake Okoboji where they spent many years until selling the lake house in 2005 and moving into Spirit Lake. Paul enjoyed many hours of fishing on the dock and on his boat. Paul passed away May 31, 2010 at the Milford Nursing Center in Milford, Iowa at eighty-two years of age. Paul is survived by his daughters, Dee (Larry) Carlson of De Pere, WI and their children, Wendy, Wade and Weston; Suzanna (Larry) Brunsen of Milford, IA and her children, Kohlene and Flint; Karilyn (Ronald) Richards of Jackson, MN and her children Matt and Shane; great-grandchildren, Alex, Natalie, Cali, Elizabeth, Caleb Paul, Megan, Ella, Lydia, Logan and Brody Paul; nieces and nephews that he always held dear to his heart, as well as other family and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; brother, Gladwin (Smiley); sisters, Fredia, Pauline and Zipora; a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marian Jean and Don Johnson; great grandson, Everett.
