Obituary of Linda Simonson

Linda Simonson, 63, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Visitation: Thursday, August 16, 2012 after 4 pm at UNION MEMORIAL CHURCH in Milford. Family Present from 5 - 7 pm at the church Service: Friday, August 17, 2012 10:30 am Interment: Milford Cemetery ~ Milford, Iowa Linda Kae Simonson was born September 24, 1948, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Perry Wayne and Ruby Catherine (Olson) Willison. Linda was raised and educated in Milford, graduating from Milford High School in 1966. Linda was united in marriage to Kent Lee Simonson on June 17, 1966, at Union Memorial Church in Milford. The couple continued to make their home in Milford, where they raised their daughters, Shelley and Staci. Linda worked for more than twenty-five years at Berkley & Company and then at Brown Medical, until retiring due to her illness. Linda was a member of Union Memorial Church in Milford. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and enjoyed spending time with friends. Above all, she loved her family, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. Linda passed away with her family at her side, Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, following a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She will be missed greatly by her husband, Kent Simonson of Milford; daughters, Shelley Simonson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Staci Augustine (Chuck) of Waterloo, Iowa; and grandchildren Payton Augustine and Nicholas Augustine. Also surviving are her mother, Ruby Willison Goodell; siblings, Patricia Wilson (Jack), and Mike Willison (Vicki); other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Willison.
