Steven (Bud) Siebersma, the son of Steve and Hattie (Stappert) Siebersma, was born on August 30th, 1924, on a farm near Orange City, Iowa. He received his education in country schools near Sheldon, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Fern Margaret Mayer on September 17, 1945, in May City, Iowa. They later moved to Milford, Iowa where they lived until Bud entered Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2008. Fern continued to live in Milford until her death in 2011. Steve passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-nine years of age. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Judy (Gary) Ries of Milford, Iowa and Jane (Ogden) Confer of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and son, Steve (Jacque) of Story, Wyoming; granddaughters, Donette (Troy) McKnight of Spirit Lake, Kristin (Jim) Matejcek of Plymouth, Minnesota and grandson, Justin Ries. He is also survived by sister, Loretta Peterson; sister-in-law, Joanne Siebersma; brothers-in-law, Roger Mayer and Lyle (Audrey) Mayer; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Hilltop Care Center for their loving and exceptional care during Bud's time there. And as Bud would say, "SHAKESPEARE."
