Obituary of Royce Alfred Ortman

Royce Alfred Ortman was born June 13, 1918 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of William and Elizabeth Ortman. Royce was united in marriage to Lucille I. Rankin on June 8, 1939 in Albany, Missouri. He lived in Waterloo, IA, Cedar Falls, IA, Janesville, IA, Laurens, IA and Spirit Lake, IA before moving to Yuma, Arizona in 2008. For several years, the couple wintered in Mission, Texas. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, traveling and dancing. He attended the Methodist Church. Royce passed away November 30, 2009 at his home in Yuma, Arizona at ninety-one years of age. Royce is survived by his wife of seventy years, Lucille; daughter, Sandy Woods of Yuma, Arizona; sons, Larry (Judy) Ortman of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Steven Ortman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four grandchildren, Eugene, Wendy, Lynn and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; three step-grand-daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Ortman; brothers, Vernon and Everett; granddaughter, Paula; nephews, Billy, Kevin and Alan; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
