Obituary of Alice Goetsch
Alice Gaye Goetsch was born on December 6, 1937 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Lee Claire and Alice Belle (Lee) Taylor. She was raised and educated in Ogden, until she moved to Iowa in 1956. Alice was united in marriage to Larry K. Goetsch at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake in 1959.
Alice and Larry made their home in Spirit Lake, where Alice worked at the Dickinson County Assessor's Office. She later worked at the Dutch Lunch Café in Spirit Lake, then at Fareway Food Store, until she retired.
Alice's passions in life, first and foremost, were spending time with friends and family. She loved to travel, watch sports and help others. Her greatest love came from spending time with her two grandsons, Wyatt and Austin Goetsch. Watching her grandsons playing sports and growing up gave her the greatest joy in life.
Alice passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy-one years of age.
Left to survive are her son, Larry Goetsch, his wife Laura, and their sons, Wyatt Taylor and Austin Carter Goetsch of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; brother, Claire Taylor and his wife, Dorothy of Farr West, Utah, and many dear family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry K. Goetsch, parents, Lee Claire and Alice Belle Taylor, father-in-law, Elmer Goetsch, mother-in-law, Hilda Goetsch, sisters Billie Goetsch and Lavina Baird, sister-in-law, Dorothy Tenney and her husband, Lakin, and brother-in-law Bob Goetsch.
