Obituary of Betty Schroder
Betty Lorraine Schroder was born to Cecil and Louise (LaLone) Young at Woodbine, Iowa on February 9, 1930. She graduated from Okoboji Consolidated High School.
On October 30, 1949 she married Russell John Schroder in Dickinson County. They lived on a farm near Melvin for a couple years, then in Arnolds Park, during their children's school years and at Milford in recent years.
She worked for various employers during her lifetime which include Berkley's, Red Rooster Café, and the Coffee Cup Cafe. She also did babysitting and had her own pillow making business in her retirement years.
Some of her hobbies were fishing, sewing, and crafts.
Mrs. Schroder passed away, Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Longhouse Care Center in Spencer at 79 years of age.
She is survived by her daughter, Norine (Nern) Black of Florida, son, Jeffrey Schroder of Milford, Iowa, sister, Phyllis Decker of Spencer, Iowa, brother, Larry Young of Florida, five grandchildren: Jamie Fricton, Culley Fricton, Kasey Black, Allison Black, and Jade Schroder and four great grandchildren, Devan Dryden, Makenzie Fricton, Ashton Fricton, and Kaitlynn Fricton.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Russell on May 14th of this year and her parents, Cecil and Louise Young.
