I just now learned of Bill's passing. He was my neighbor in Cedar Rapids. We played chess, through the mail, when he was stationed overseas during the Vietnam war. I doubt we ever finished a game, but it kept him engaged to people at home while he was far away. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, even years later.
