He spent his early years in Badger, went to school in Vincent. In his early youth he was active in 4H and showed pigs at the fairs. Later, he farmed with his dad and also took on odd jobs to get extra cash. He did custom painting and became a custodian at the Ft. Dodge School. Later, he moved to Valentine, IL as head custodian, where he retired.
Byron moved Spencer, Iowa and became active at the Senior Center and very seldom missed an event. He moved to Milford in September, 1991, and soon became a member of Fist Lutheran Church. He seldom missed a service.
Byron took pride in his yard and garden, but refused to weed the flower beds. He also enjoyed woodworking and was very careful in his work. He died December 10,2008 at Milford Nursing Center.
His parents preceded him in death. He leaves his brother, Maurice, and his wife, Millie, of Ft. Dodge, cousins and friends, including his special friend of 20 years, Wilma Anderson.
