Gerry was always very involved in her church, especially with the choir, and was a church organist for more than thirty years. Her children and grandchildren, and all that they were involved in, were of great importance. A special blessing was the joy of sharing in her grandchildren's lives. Hospice and caring for the terminally ill was an important service in her life. Besides music, she loved to read and enjoyed stage plays. Friends were important to Gerry, and all knew that the coffee pot was always on, and when happy hour started.
Gerry passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at eighty-four years of age at Milford Nursing Center in Milford, Iowa.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Hugh, children Jody of Spirit Lake, Scott (Pam) Sternberg of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Beth (Dave) of Milford, grandchildren Jessica Sander and Tyler (Ashley) Sander, various nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends.
