Obituary of Steve Chalstrom

Steven Ray Chalstrom was born March 1, 1954, the son of Raymond and Mary (Hinton) Chalstrom in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Spirit Lake, graduating from Spirit Lake High School. Steven lived in Spirit Lake and Milford his entire life while working at Berkley's, Spencer Pack, Village West and Shaw Paint, Glass and Locksmithing. Steve was a very likeable person with many interests. Recently he had "discovered" the internet. He collected movie posters and currency. He was also an avid reader. He loved to travel and traveled the western states in the last few years, where his love of history led him to several historical places. Steve passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his home in Milford at fifty-four years of age. He is survived by his siblings, Diane Spengler and her husband Steve of Hernando, Florida, Bill Chalstrom and his wife Margo of Bremerton, Washington, and Becky Frederick and her husband Darwin of Spencer, Iowa. He his also survived by his nieces, Stacy Pemberton and Katie Farhang; and nephews, Ross Chalstrom and Scott Spengler, along with many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and R.E. "Johnny" Chalstrom.
