Obituary of Joan Keagle

Joan Mae Keagle was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Kossuth County (Lotts Creek) Iowa, daughter of Earl and Irene Leininger Lauritson. She grew up and was educated in the Algona area. She married Dorvan D. Keagle on February 2, 1951 and lived and worked in Terril and Spirit Lake. For ten years she was employed by Berkley (Pure Fishing) in quality control. After their four children were grown, they resided in North Port, Florida for eighteen years where Joan worked in retail. Upon retirement in 1997, they returned to Iowa and resided at Fox Meadow Apartments in Evansdale. Joan passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa due to complications of lymphoma. Joan is survived by two daughters, Verna (David) Ives of Evansdale, Iowa and Lois (James) Grems of Minneapolis; two sons, Cal Keagle and Loren Keagle, both of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; one granddaughter, Sarah Ives (Joseph) Marino and one great grandson, Luca Joseph Marino of round Lake, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dorvan.
