Obituary of Mason Jeffrey Dible
Mason Jeffrey Dible was born January 29, 1990 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Jeffrey and Jody (Walker) Dible. He attended school in Sioux City, Spirit Lake and was currently a senior at Okoboji High School. Mason was the captain of the basketball team, playing three years on the varsity team as well as two years on the varsity golf team. In his junior year, he was named to the second team all-conference golf team and also two years as state Deca champion which earned him a trip to the National Deca competition his junior and senior year. Mason was also active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Mason was a young man who was adored by his family. He was a loving son and a great brother. Even though he was younger than all of his siblings except his youngest sister Emma, they all looked up to and admired him. His smile and spirit were infectious. It was impossible to be in a bad mood whenever he was around. He was extremely affectionate and had a big heart that required he share his capacity to love with anyone who was around him. He was very smart and had a great, quick wit about him that was exemplified best in the wonderful sense of humor that shined whenever he was with family or friends. He enjoyed life as much as anyone in this world, and spent all his time doing what he loved to do. Whether he was golfing, playing basketball, bowling, watching sports or movies with his family, going to the Y, or hanging out with his friends and charming the ladies, he and the people around him loved every minute. He was strong and sweet. He was a proud Christian, and a wonderful friend. Everyone in this world who was lucky enough to be a part of his life was better for it. He was a good man who genuinely cared about everyone in his life and cherished his relationships with all his friends and family, and was cherished himself just the same. He was a constant reminder of his father who passed when Mason was just a boy, but who also lived on through Mason's beautiful heart and soul. Mason was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by those whose lives he touched in his short, but meaningful time on this earth.
Mason passed away on April 10, 2008 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at eighteen years of age.
He is survived by his mother, Jody Dixon and step-father, Larry Dixon; sister, Jessica Simpson and brother-in-law, Dwayne of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Max and Willie Dible of Iowa City, Iowa; sister, Emma Dible of Spirit Lake; Uncle Charlie Dible and Aunt Susan and their children, Nikki and Jeffrey; Uncle Jim and Aunt Denise Sporrer and their son, Jared.
