Obituary of Rose Knudtson

Rose Isabelle Jones was born to Edward and Ardellia Jones on March 30, 1905 in Nebraska. She worked in a grocery, dry goods store as a young lady. She married Knudt Knudtson on July 2, 1936. She nurtured and loved his six children as her own. They lived on the Knudtson century farm in Okoboji Township until 1952 when they retired to Milford. After moving to town she cleaned cottages around the lake. She was a hard worker in her church, Little Sioux Lutheran Church. She loved to crochet and made many dollies and wall hangings. She made table cloths for all her children and grandchildren. Rose passed away on November 8, 2007 at the St. Lukes Lutheran Home where she had been a resident since 1999. She is survived by four step children: Freeman (Edna Mae) Knudtson of Spencer, IA, Orville (Virginia) Knudtson of Prescott, AZ, Marie (Bud) Welle and Rose Anderson, both of Milford. Surviving also is her daughter-in-law, Geneva Knudtson of Milford; eighteen grandchildren, thirty -seven great-grandchildren and forty-two great-great-grandchildren. She took great joy in her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Knudt in 1979, three sisters, one brother, a step daughter and her husband, Greta and Ernest Dannatt and one step son, Kenneth Knudtson.
