Obituary of Carol Kaufman
A funeral service for Carol Kaufman, 80, of Milford, will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:30am at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 after 3:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm.
Carol Frances Kaufman was born March 31, 1932, the daughter of George and Bernadine (Schemmel) Wintz. She was raised and educated in Milford, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Arnold Sebby and moved to Spencer in 1952. Carol worked as a bookkeeper and clerk at a wallpaper and paint store for fifteen years. She then drove school bus for five years for Spencer Community School. Carol was married to Francis Kaufman and moved to Milford, Iowa in 1976.
Carol was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over thirty years and also served as a past president. She worked as a cook at the Okoboji School for twenty-six years. Carol enjoyed having coffee with the girls and volunteering at the Milford Nursing Center every Monday as a "BINGO caller".
Carol passed away November 6, 2012 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital at eighty years of age.
She is survived by four sisters and one brother; daughter, Marcia Hale and her son, Wesley; daughter, Barbara Sebby; daughter, Tammy Merry and her daughter, Shonda; son, Dwayne Sebby (Kathy) and their children, Skyler and Mashell; great-grandchildren, Cameron Burr and Trevyn Baxter; one great-great-grandchild, Madison Hale.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Kaufman in 2003, parents, four sisters and one brother.
