Bryan David Fisher was born July 19, 1979, the son of Jane Hyatt Fisher and Michael Fisher in Cherokee, Iowa. Bryan moved with his family to Milford, Iowa, at four years of age, where he was raised and educated, graduating from Okoboji High School in 1998.
Bryan was united in marriage to Tasida Barfoot on September 10, 2005.
In high school, Bryan worked in a family restaurant, where he learned how to cook for a large number of people he didn't know, under immense pressure. He continued to cook for a small number of people that he loved deeply for the rest of his life. He never shook off the sense of urgency, causing him to bang things loudly and chase said loved ones from the kitchen when he wielded his talent. His son claims he made the best meatloaf ever.
From a young age, Bryan's passion in life was playing pool. He has spent countless hours studying the art. Whether in his mom's garage or at the national pool tournaments in Las Vegas, he loved playing pool while always surrounded by friends. In his recent years, he was living out his dream and working along side his brother, Reuben, designing and building custom pool cues. His other favorite interests were boxing, music and movies.
Bryan had a way of lighting up the room with his sense of humor. He had a heart of gold and would do just about anything for anyone. He treasured spending time with his son, nieces & nephews & was always smiling when they were in his presence.
In July of this year, Bryan and his son Levi took a two week road trip to Orlando & New York. Their adventures in Orlando included a concert, mini golf, and 3 days at Universal Studios with their favorite ride being 'The Rocket'. In New York, they enjoyed a baseball game, hiking at Watkins Glen, and swimming. Levi will forever cherish these memories.
Bryan passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at thirty-three years of age.
He is survived by his son, Levi Fisher of Ames, Iowa; mother, Jane Fisher (Bruce Hollander) of Milford; father, Mike Fisher of Spirit Lake; brothers, Reuben (Marnetta) Fisher, their daughters, Gabbie and Meggann, of Humboldt, Iowa, Tim (Angela) Fisher and their daughter, Peyton, of Eagan, Minnesota, and Cory Hollander, of Spencer; sisters, Nicole Hike (Joe) and son, Mason, of Spirit Lake, Katrina King (Jason) and their sons Trent and Jayden of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; Tasida Barfoot, of Ames; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by: Grandparents Elwood & Dorothy Hyatt; and Jack & Helen Fisher; uncles, Charles Carter and David Gossman; and cousin, Darrel Hickman
Bryan's passing for many of us marks the loss of a treasured friend and family member who could always be counted on to make us laugh and smile. He will be greatly missed.
