Obituary of Robert Dierking
A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 10:30 am at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
Robert Lee Dierking was born May 3, 1945 in LaFayette County, Missouri, the son of Milton and Miriam (Klussman) Dierking. Robert was raised and educated near Alma, Missouri, graduating from Alma High School on May 14, 1963.
Bob moved to the Spirit Lake area in 1967 to farm. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Dierking on August 15, 1970, in Spirit Lake. They made their home in Spirit Lake, where they raised their four children, David, Kenny, Christine and Kathy.
Robert farmed until 1991, and began working for Cohr's Construction as well as other various jobs until he was unable to work due to poor health. Bob was a hard worker who enjoyed farming and providing for his family.
Robert passed away at his home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at sixty-seven years of age.
He is survived by his children, David Dierking and his wife, Kristi and their children, T.J., Tanner, Tate, Taren and Tucker of Indianola, Iowa; Kenneth Dierking and his wife, Cyndi and their children, Keaton and Sophie of Boone, Iowa; Christine Bergum and her husband, Pete and their
children, Brayden and Brooklyn of Ames, Iowa, and Kathy Akers and her husband Shane of Leon, Iowa; siblings, Donald Dierking, Russell and Ruth Dierking, Roger and Coleen Dierking, Shirley and Ray Don Paul and Leroy Dierking; several nieces, nephews and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Miriam Dierking, and brothers Eugene and Stanley Dierking.
