Obituary of David Bridges
Funeral Services: 10:30 am, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Spencer, Iowa.
Visitation: Friday, December 28, 2012 after 3 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.
David Charles Bridges was born October 14, 1933, near Everly, Iowa, the son of Charles and Margaret (Roper) Bridges. He was raised and educated in Terril, graduating from Terril Community School.
David entered the US Army on April 9, 1956, serving until he received an Honorable Discharge on May 16, 1962.
David was united in marriage to Eureka Dill Noffsinger on June 15, 1957 in Chicago, Illinios. Following David's service in the Army, the couple made their home in Terril, Iowa, where he farmed, worked as a brick layer and as a factory worker. In 2010, the couple moved to Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
David was a member of First Baptist Church in Spencer, Iowa. He enjoyed visiting and woodworking, wand, more recently at the Iowa Veteran's Home, David enjoyed working with ceramics and leather.
David passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
David is survived by his wife Eureka (Ricky) Bridges; daughter, Valerie Bridges; and his favorite dog, Rascal; sister, Margaret Schweitzer; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Stephen Bridges and sister, Elizabeth Bridges.
