Obituary of Dennis Edwards

Dennis James Edwards was born August 28, 1942, the son of Mickey and Dorothy (Evans) Edwards. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School. Dennis was a lifelong Lakes Area resident. He worked with the highway commission for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 36 years. Dennis enjoyed motorcycle riding, working on motorcycles and automobiles, everything from engine building to painting & repair. He enjoyed outdoor activities and had a special admiration of the lakes, particularly fishing and boating. Dennis was also very talented and artistic. He would draw, paint and carve many things and enjoyed giving them as gifts. He enjoyed all forms of music & played the harmonica, accordion and guitar and loved dancing. He had a passion for collecting unusual items and enjoyed helping friends. Dennis passed away January 5, 2013 at his home in Milford, Iowa at seventy years of age. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Edwards of Okoboji. Iowa; son, Brian Edwards and grandson, Austin Edwards of Arnolds Park, Iowa; former spouse and good friend, Voanne Edwards; brother, Mike Edwards and his wife, Paula, of Hot Springs, South Dakota and Wayne Chrestiansen and his family of Estherville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mickey and Dorothy Edwards.
