Obituary of Don Cable

Donald Emil Cable, the son of Lura Elizabeth (Williamson) Cable, was born July 12, 1946, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Don was raised in Milford where he made many memories at his grandpa’s farm. He graduated from Milford High School.
On July 18, 1968, Don was married to Connie Jo Willison in Milford. They farmed near Milford and raised their three children, Lori, Leah and Brian. Don supported the FFA, American Legion, NRA and Pheasants Forever.
Don collected guns, enjoyed gardening, fireworks, John Deere tractors, ground roast sandwiches, oreo cookies and coke. He was known to be mischievous and he liked hog roasts, sledding parties, camping and fishing with friends and enjoyed having morning coffee at Boji Junction and Shucks. Don’s greatest joy was his family and that “damn” dog, Scruffy.
Don passed away March 1, 2020 at his home in Milford, Iowa at seventy-three years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Lori, Leah (Robin) and Brian (Jeannie); grandchildren, Colton, Josie, Lindsey, Ethen, Aveary, Eli, John and Laci; sister, Sheri (Tom) Arends; aunt, June Klesath and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Lura Elizabeth Williamson Cable; grandparents, EY and Grace (Gillette) Cable and Glen and Amy (McIntyre) Williamson; nephew, Christopher Arends; in-laws, Cliff and Alvena (Wittrock) Willison.
