Obituary of Barbara Nordblad

A visitation for Barbara Nordblad, age 89, of Milford will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at 3:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. A private family graveside will be held Saturday, October 17 at the Milford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to People for Pets in Spencer.

Barbara Faye Nordblad, the daughter of Ralph and Beulah (Hanson) Hunt, was born March 25, 1931 in Milford, Iowa.

On August 19, 1954, Barbara was married to Oscar Nordblad in Milford, Iowa. In her working years, she worked for the school serving hot lunches to elementary children and also cleaned cottages with her sister.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, riding her bike around town and puttering on the farm.

Barbara passed away October 14, 2020 at her home in Milford at eighty-nine years of age.

She is survived by her children, Monie Nordblad, Carlo Nordblad (Paula) and Denise Kastner; grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Kastner, Wyatt Kastner (Melissa), Kendra Kastner (Brad), Bryce Nordblad (Melissa) and Jenna Johnson; great-grandchildren, Hadley Kastner and Ariana Kastner; her dog, Candice; sisters, Alta Lange and Delores Boles; sister-in-law, Helen Phillips; several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Beulah Hunt; husband, Oscar; and sister, Ione Stevenson.
