Michael D Short posted a condolence
Saturday, December 4, 2021
I am so sorry to hear of Bev's passing. I had been in touch with her the last few years, trading information and photos. My mother, Eunice Ann Drown Short, was a first cousin of Bev. In fact, if not for Bev's parents, I wouldn't even be here. When Clifford and Mae Julia married, my grandfather, George Briggs Drown was his Best Man, and Mae's friend, Johanna Gommels was her Maid of Honor. It was the first time George and Johanna met, and it was love at first sight. They married and three children were the result, including my mother. Bev was so kind to my brothers and I when the family got together. I didn't hear of her passing until today. I wish all her family-my cousins-all our best.

My sympathy to Bev’s family. I am Bev’s cousin from Carroll, IA. I will miss Bev’s emails letting us Carroll Cousins know how all the”Milford people” are doing. Bev was a special person with a beautiful heart and a warm smile. I wish we could be with the family today to share in the wonderful memories but our prayers are with all of you. Stay safe. Your Mom, Bev, was one of my Favorite People at St. Joseph! For a long time we enjoyed sharing monthly lunch as members of the One-derful Ones as well as visits and laughs after weekday Masses as the very informal back, left-side pew group. Bev was so kind, caring, loving, and young at heart! After my husband had died one September, many years ago, I received a lovely Valentine the next February 14th. It was from Bev. When I thanked her at church, she told me she knew how hard it was to not receive a Valentine the first February after one's spouse had died, so Bev said she tried to send one to let people know that they were still loved, thought of, and cared for. How Kind! Your beautiful Mom truly made her - and our - world a better place to live! She is Home now, Bless her Memory! - comforted in the arms of Our Good and Loving Lord - free to walk and move around as she wishes . . . with a big smile, no cane, and no pain!

What a truly Wonderful Caring person she always was. She helped make my childhood a bit better along with many others. Her calm patience was a good example. I'm thinking we used to make fudge once in awhile in her kitchen. I also have some of a memory of your Dad in the garage fixing or building things. Time has gone by quickly and yet she remained the same smiling person. Your family was truly blessed in your parents. As were all the people whose lives she made a bit better just by being herself. Blessings to you all.

Lots of wonderful memories of this great lady. She was always so upbeat, loved the stories she had about the good ol days of life in Milford. She loved her family, her friends and her church. May she rest in Peace and Peace to the large family she and Floyd were so proud of.
