Obituary of Robert Wiese
A funeral service for Robert Wiese, age 79, will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday, January 1, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.
Robert Eldon Wiese, the son of Eldon and Velma (Peters) Wiese, was born on November 6, 1941, in Spencer, Iowa. After graduating high school, he attended Iowa State University.
On March 4, 1962, Robert was united in marriage to Janet Youde in Everly, Iowa. They lived in Iowa until they moved to Arizona in August of 1984. Robert and Janet had lived in Arizona for the past thirty-five years.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandson; as well as going to flea markets and antique stores with his grandsons. He was an avid woodworker, carpenter and farmer. Robert served as President of the Clay County Pork Producers, served as a Lone Tree Booster 4H leader and enjoyed helping the kids with their 4H projects in the hog building at the Clay County Fair. Robert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Iowa and was active volunteering as an usher and assisting with Sunday School. He savored his wife’s homemade chocolate chip cookies, pies (in particular, rhubarb pie) and always enjoyed a dish of ice cream before bed.
Robert passed away at the Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Arizona on December 23, 2020, at the age of seventy-nine.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Wiese; children, Terry (Sharon) Wiese, Tammy Hall (Marc Ellison) and Tim (Jodi) Wiese; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Judy (Ken) Trevithick; brothers-in-law, Jim Youde and Jon (Cathy) Youde; as well as other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Velma Wiese; sister-in-law, Ronda Youde; as well as his father and mother in-law, Robert and Vernita Youde.
