Dalton farmed my Dad's farm and where we met so many yrs ago. I somehow found that he and Verna Mae lived in Okoboji, as think he and my Dad exchanged annual Christmas cards, and when I was there about 10 yrs ago, visiting my Cousin, Bill. we had a great visit with them. Bill knew him from his Y visits and always kept me up-to date and when we visited, Dalton said it was his hope to outlive my Dad, who died at 96yrs...........so he made his wish. I remember him always as such a kind and gentle man. He was, indeed. like Dad, of the Greatest Generation,as they both lived independantly til the end. My heart is heavy now, but my memories are strong and he will always be in my heart.
