Ruth was my mother-in-law for 46 years, grandmother to our 2 sons for over 40 years, and mother to my husband, Mike, for over 70 years. She was a spirited and lively woman who enjoyed a good coversation. She raised her 6 sons, took care of her husband, and enjoyed being back in Spirit Lake in later years. The past year was difficult, but she kept herself healthy and intelligent. I think of Ruth often, and will never forget her insights and knowledge.

I'd be lying if I said I remembered this photo being taken. However, Grandma Ruth's incessant smile, calm demeanor, and can do attitude is the flame to which I hold my candle. I am fortunate to be one of Ruth's descendants, grandchildren, and admirers, and she will always roam where I roam. God speed Ruth! ian

I miss you Grandma Ruth. Thank you for teaching me how to "distract 'em with your jab, and then get 'em with your strong hand". I'm glad you are with Grandpa Ron again. Love, Nate.
