Obituary of Valerie Koppert Welle

A funeral service for Valerie Koppert Welle, 67, of Spirit Lake, will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

Valentine K. Waltz, AKA "Val" Koppert Welle, was born May 15, 1953 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was the daughter of Phyllis Marie (Bruns) and Robert Edward Koppert. Val attended Milford High School and continued her eduation at NWI.
Val was united in marriage to Donald L. Welle from 1981-2005. 

She enjoyed Bingo, flowers, gardening and making things beautiful. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Val was always willing to help other in any way she could and put others before herself. 

Val passed away April 11, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at sixty-seven years of age.

She is survived by her children, Al Lawrence Welle, Alace Marguerite Welle and Elizabeth Welle Simpson; grandchildren, Austin Rutherford, Aldon Welle, Edward Simpson, Christion Simpson, Melissa Simpson, Dillon Simpson, Rozalyn Simpson and Eli Nelson; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Amelia and Lily Nelson; her dog Duncan and so many friends.

Val was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and brother, Robert Koppert.
