June was a lovely lady who always lightened up the room with her presence. She was so kind to my mother Peggy Egertson, and to this I am so grateful. She and my Mom would always come and hear my brief piano solos at Keelson Harbour. June made everyone she knew feel blessed and loved, another angel has left earth.

We were truly blessed when Max & June came to Wesley UMC Sioux City, IA. Max with his true smile & love of flying & June's Mother Julie joining them. I sat with Julie many times & my girls' loved her writing their names in Japanese. June always had a way of making you welcome with tea & a snack. June's love of animals came with her to Sioux City with Mr Tompkins-he had a habit of getting into people's coat pockets-I was pregnant and had 24 hour morning sickness and I kept a "snack" in my cape pocket. As I waited to get my cape to leave June kept it wrapped up in her arms & just didn't want me to see what Mr Tompkins did to my pocket-he had literally eaten the material up! June insisted I buy a new cape-I had made it so I cut out the "chewed" section & sewed in a new panel & pocket! Everytime June saw me in the cape she would just shake her head! We loved to stop by the Okoboji house & brought back many Poplar trees for their land across the way. We loved watching the cats walk the beams! Our hearts & prayers are with you all as you cherish the time spent with an amazing mother.

June Goldman shaped who I am in ways that I have always known, and more that are flooding back to me as I read her obituary . . . . . I got to be her and Max's neighbor growing up! If I couldn't be a daughter, or granddaughter, it's the next best thing. I would stop by their house regularly. (Mr.) Tompkins, their dog!
We would drink tea, talk, stare at the lake. I loved their spiral staircase that led upstairs. June taught me how to listen. She taught me how to be. How to act on what I believe in. I knocked on doors for her when she ran for office, looked forward to church just to hug her, babysat her grandchildren (hello Jennifer, Sergio, Christie, Nicole!).
The first year the local Rotary club established the Max Goldman scholarship, I was honored to be the recipient of it. When our family was in crisis, June and Max were there. When we weren't, June and Max were there. I am so unbelievably lucky to have this angel of a human woman in my foundation.
I hold June in my heart and being always.
With great love, respect and gratitude,
Alyson Schacherer

I didn’t know June well, but our paths did cross several times in United Methodist or Arts Council activities… I was so impressed by her wise words delivered in her well modulated voice with a warm smile. She was an elegant example of womanhood who spent her talents generously and with vigor throughout her life… an inspiration to all who knew her!

June Goldman was a long time friend of our church family at Estherville United Methodist Church, not only when Max served as our pastor but years later she continued to visit from time-to-time. In 2009 as we celebrated 150 years of our church, she joined us and shared a poignant message about her time with our congregation. We welcomed her as you would any old friend. She truly will celebrate joining her loved ones in Heaven and has certainly earned that reward! Please know we share our sympathies with her family. Nancy Danielson and Estherville UMC.

Wonderful, spontaneous, out going, friendly,....and my list continues as I have know June for a number of years--first meeting Max Goldman and June when they lived in a beautiful, cute cottage with my envy- fire place at the United Methodist Camp on West Lake. My main contact of these "two" was when I mainly worked in the old dining room- hotel (not used then) as the dishwasher of all dishes for the various camps plus lifeguarding at the waterfront. Her husband- then Max and I would have long discussions about life challenges, and goals for the future. I found June was a 'smart cookie' too, so visited with her- to 'bend her ear' on even more topics. My parents knew the Goldman's as well-- plus i was aware of her positive support of Westmar College - where I attended.
I remember purchasing her book "To Touch the Sky" and just knew, someday I would write. When I worked in the lakes areas-
I would see June advocating for the animals of the area which lead to the developing of the Humane Society there. m if anyone could handle a challenge- June could. That's why I admired her and her endeavors so much...i am so pleased to have known Max, June & Karl-- family--you've had one terrific Mom."
"Oh Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever! \" I can hear the singing, everyone welcoming, all the hugs---June has ran up the steps to HEAVEN as she would see Max, friends, relatives, family...and I just know she'll be waiting for me when I get there--- What a joyous victory. Prayers & blessings to her Karl, and family! Bet there's a Pot Luck being set up!

I was on the board of directors of the Milford Humane Society with June for six years. She was a class act and a wonderful woman. Her love of animals (particularly kittens and cats) was amazing. I looked forward to each meeting with anticipation of her famous chocolate chip cookies. She will be missed by all that knew her. Tony Stubbs

Dear beautifully kind June will be so missed on this earth. We Doocys were reacquainted with her at Accura. She was ever graceful and filled with smiles. Our mother, Gladys Helland Doocy, knew June from teaching one of you in Titonka. Dad, George Doocy, knew her too and recalled hearing her speak many times. June fascinated our parents, and they were very glad to get visits with her again at Accura. Know that June’s radiance touched us all!

June resided in Keelson Harbor at the same time as my mother. She was always so gracious with an eternal smile on her face. She and my mom had many visits as my mother had also been a long time employee of Dickinson County. My sincerest sympathy to her family..
