Obituary of Kevin Potter

A memorial service for Kevin Potter, 60, of Spirit Lake, will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:30am at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 5th from 4:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home.

Kevin Leroy Potter, the son of Dean and Geri (Riche) Potter, was born October 27, 1960 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School. 

On October 22, 1999, Kevin was united in marriage to Mari (Paris) in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Kevin worked as a bricklayer and stone mason throughout his life and was a member of the Bricklayer Union.

Kevin enjoyed fishing, listening to outlaw country music, cooking new recipes and watching all Husker sports. He loved to call his wife at work just to chat, spend time with all of his local friends at "church" (aka Sportsmans), play with his beloved dog, Mojo, travel to wherever necessary to visit his kids and most importantly, loving and playing with his two grandkids, Logan and Josie. He was the best Papa!

Kevin passed away August 2, 2021 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at sixty years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Mari Potter; daughter, Janece Ferris and her husband, Mike and their son, Logan; son, Jed Potter and his fiancé, Nikki DeSalle; step-daughter, Cara Treybal and her husband, Josh and their daughter, Josie; step-son, Ethan Vale and his girlfriend, Stacey Gonzalez; sister, Fawn Hogan (Rick); nieces, Adrien Bowman (Trevyr) and Molly Beckwith; and Kevin's best friend, Mojo.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Dean Potter; mother, Geri Potter and sister, Tammy Potter.
