Obituary of Cheryl "Gidget" Halbur

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Gidget will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 4-7pm at Chaplins in Arnolds Park.

Cheryl “Gidget” Colleen Halbur, the daughter of Elmer and Vera (Gillett) Henningsen, was born April 6, 1948 in Estherville, Iowa. After graduating high school, Gidget moved to Arnolds Park, Iowa where she lived throughout her life.

On March 5, 2001, Gidget was married to Kenneth Halbur. Gidget enjoyed gardening, photography and had a love for all animals. She was a member of the PETA and ASPCA.

Gidget passed away August 2, 2021 at her home in Arnolds Park, Iowa at seventy-three years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Halbur of Arnolds Park; brother, Bruce Henningsen and a nephew, Rusty Nabor.

Gidget was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vera Hemmingsen; son, Matt Hovey; and brother, Russell (Butchy) Henningsen.
