Obituary of David "Bud" McClure
Memorial services for David "Bud" McClure, age 89, of Lake Park, will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.

David Hiram (Bud) McClure was born May 19, 1932 in Lake Park, Iowa to David and Tillie (Ritterholz) McClure. There he grew up and graduated from high school in 1950. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War.
On February 7, 1954, Bud was united in marriage to Betty Rush at the Methodist Church in Montgomery, Iowa. They lived in Madison, WI briefly while he finished his time in the service. They then settled on a farm in Sioux Valley, MN where they were dairy and crop farmers. Bud also custom combined for several years.
Bud was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park where he served in several capacities. He also served on the Sioux Valley School Board and Farmers Exchange Elevator Board and was a member of the Sioux Valley American Legion 60+ years.
In the spring of 2007 they moved to Lake Park. Bud loved to watch things grow and had an extensive garden and many houseplants. He generously shared his produce and houseplants with family and friends. He was very proud and supportive of his family and enjoyed attending the many activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren over the years.
Bud passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Spirit Lake Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Betty of Lake Park; his children: Scott (Terri) McClure, Sioux Valley, MN; Sandy (Roger) Untiedt, Marshall, MN; Doug (Wendy) McClure, Harris, MN; and Sheila (Jeff) Storey, Spencer, Iowa. Grandchildren: Lee (Melissa) McClure, Mollie McClure, Nick Untiedt, Nate (Lorna) Untiedt, Tyler (Jess) Untiedt, Britni Weeklund (Josh Fuhol), Corina McClure (Nate Oesterling), Adam McClure, Katie and Aaron Storey. Great grandchildren: Brenna, Elijah, Ellie, Ezra, Sklyer, Keegen, Maverick, and Rocket. Siblings: Myrna Matthiesen, Lake Park; Rita (Jim) Heimsoth, LeMars, Iowa; Wes (Tina) McClure, Lake Park. Sister-in-law Mabel Rush, Spencer, Iowa. Several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Julie, infant son Daryl, infant grandson Benjamin. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Dallas Matthiesen, Irma and Dan Veit, Lois and Art Johnson, Wayne and Phyllis Rush, Les and Lucille Rush, Dean and Bev Rush, and Bob Rush. Blessed be his memory.
