Obituary of Grace Catlin-Ritzer

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Grace Catlin-Ritzer of Spirit Lake will be held Saturday, November 20th from 12:00-3:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.

Grazyna “Grace” Elzbieta Catlin, the daughter of Elzbieta (Duhme) and Andrzej Osiwala, was born March 25, 1973 in Bytom, Poland. She lived in Poland and Italy before moving to the United States where she lived in Woodbury, Minnesota before moving to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2000.

Grace loved traveling the world with her daughters, playing with her granddaughter, Sofia and spending time with her family at home. She enjoyed walking at the farm with friends and the dogs and always enjoyed “girls night out” with her best friends.

Grace fought a hard battle of pancreatic cancer and passed away November 12, 2021 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at forty-eight years of age.

She is survived by two daughters, Kaitlin (Craig) of Milford, Iowa and Alexis (Noah) of Bryan, Texas; granddaughter, Sofia; mother, Elizabeth (Fred) Duhme of Flagstaff, Arizona; significant other, Robert Ritzer of Arnolds Park, Iowa; grandmother, Janina Stowyk (Babcia Nusia) of St. Paul, Minnesota; several cousins and other family members.

Grace was preceded in death by her father, Andrzej Osiwala and her grandparents.
