Obituary of Karen Kirchner

A Prayer Service for Karen Lee (Seaton) Kirchner, age 65, of Terril, will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 3:30pm at the Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place following the Prayer Service from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. 

Karen Lee (Seaton) Kirchner, age 65, of Terril, passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a lengthy battle with cancer on April 3rd, at her home in Terril.

Karen was born July 23rd, 1956, to Geneva (Schrunk) and Boyd Seaton in Tempe, Arizona. She lived in El Monte, California during her younger years. When she was 16, the family returned to Lynd, Minnesota where her parents’ families were from.

In January of 1976, Karen became a mother to her beloved twins, Gregory and Debra.

On December 5th, 1991, Karen was married to Gerald Kirchner, they made their home outside of Garvin, Minnesota until 2008 when they moved to Iowa eventually making their home in Terril.

Karen worked at many labor jobs over her lifetime, her most recent endeavor prior to cancer was working for Cool Biker Stuff. Karen was a motorcycle enthusiast and travelled many miles with Jerry during their marriage on two wheels and four.

Karen’s strong demeanor and beautiful smile were a joy to all who knew her. She loved following her children and grandchildren. She always had a steadfast heart and could lead a lost soul with good words and a helping hand. She was brave and strong every step of the way.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Kirchner of Terril, Iowa; son, Gregory (Kimberly) Seaton of Garvin, Minnesota; daughter, Debra Seaton of Alexandria, Minnesota; brother, Jeffrey (Susie) Seaton of Yucca Valley, California; sister, Karla Telles of Monrovia, California; grandchildren: Zachary, Taylor, Tristan, Tucker, Jordan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Avery, Emma, Piper, and Ava. Karen also leaves behind a host of relatives and special friends including her stepdaughter, Sarah Kirchner and her sons, Ryatt and Draven all of Newport, Washington.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Geneva Seaton.

Burial will be held at a later date.
