Obituary of Martha Gadd

A Graveside Service for Martha Gadd, 88, of Spirit Lake, will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2:00pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake.

Martha Ann Gadd was born August 2, 1934, in Hartley, Iowa, the daughter of August and Anna (Ruby) Ronge.  She was raised and educated in Hartley and graduated from Hartley High School.

She was united in marriage to Lyle Thomas Gadd on March 20, 1950 in Worthington, Minnesota.  The couple made their home in Spirit Lake, Iowa where she was a homemaker, and later, worked at Berkley's.

Martha was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.  She was also a member of the Humane Society.  Martha enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening and feeding birds and squirrels.

Martha passed away October 5, 2022 at Aspire Healthcare in Lake Park, Iowa at eighty eight years of age.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois Szabo and her husband, Robert; sister Betty Hollander; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle and sisters Francis Edwards and Mae Crawford; brother-in-laws Harold Edwards, Amos Hollander and Jim Crawford.
