Obituary of Sandra Lorenz

A Visitation for Sandra Lorenz, age 72, of Spirit Lake will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm at the VFW (Javi's Grill) in Spirit Lake. 

Sandra "Sandy" Lorenz was born to Lawrence and Betty (Case) Brewer on March 17, 1951 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She resided in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she had four children. She married Daryll Lorenz on May 11, 1984 and they moved to Iowa in 1990.

Sandy and Daryll had thirty-nine wonderful years where they enjoyed gambling and looked forward to their yearly Las Vegas trips. Sandy also loved to crochet and spend time with her family.\

Sandy was a very stubborn strong willed opinionated woman who always said exactly what she wanted to say. For those that knew and loved her, Sandy was the strongest person they had ever known. She fought hard right up to the very end where her family all surrounded her. She also would do anything and fight any battle with amazing force for those she loved and protected. In 2001, Sandy even started a safehouse program for children in need.

Sandy passed away October 8, 2023 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at seventy-two years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Betty Brewer; son, Adam Daniels in 1997 and her brother, Russ. Sandy will be sadly missed and always fondly remembered.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Daryll Lorenz; children, Lisa Daniels (Bryan), Matthew Daniels (Sheri), Jennifer Dolphin (Todd) and Allison Lorenz; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Sandy's family would like to thank the hospice staff for their exceptional care of Sandy during her year long battle with cancer. Especially Maggie Fliss, who Sandy and Daryll both adored and appreciated so very much.
