Obituary of Allen Rowe
A private family graveside service for Allen Rowe will be held at Union Cemetery in Harris, Iowa.
Allen Edwin Rowe, a devoted husband, father, and respected community member, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of ninety. Born on June 1, 1933, near Aurora, Hamilton County, Nebraska, Allen was the cherished son of Arthur and Eva (Main) Rowe.
The Rowe family later moved to a farm near Harris, Iowa, where Allen graduated from Harris High School. Following his education, Allen answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the US Army on May 12, 1953. He played a vital role during the post-World War II occupation in Germany, stationed in Munich. Allen's dedication and service were commendable, earning him an Honorable Discharge on February 21, 1955.
On February 4, 1953, Allen embarked on a journey of love and companionship by marrying Loretta Zevenbergen in Sibley, Iowa. The couple established their home in rural Harris, Iowa, where they lovingly raised their sons, Randy and Mike, while actively engaging in the farming community.
Allen's faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a proud member of the Harris United Methodist Church in Harris. His commitment extended to the community, where he served as a board member for Osceola County Co-Op Oil.
Throughout his life, Allen embodied the values of hard work, dedication, and family. His legacy lives on through the love he shared with his wife, Loretta, and their sons, Randy Rowe and Mike Rowe. Allen is also remembered fondly by his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who carry forth his spirit and values.
In addition to his immediate family, Allen is survived by his sisters, Ruth Baldwin, Doris Kuehl, and Beth Mutchler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eva Rowe, and sisters Gladine Rodgers and Annetta Reimersma.
