Obituary of Heidi Brittain (Nolting)
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Heidi Brittain (Nolting), age 44. A visitation for Heidi will be Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM, with service to follow at 4:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. A Celebration of Life for Heidi will be held in June 2024, details pending.
Heidi Elizabeth, daughter of Milt and Ruth Nolting, was born June 25, 1979, in Red Oak, Iowa. She grew up in Spirit Lake, spending most of her childhood at Cenla Campground, owned by her parents. She attended Spirit Lake Schools and was involved with many musically inclined activities, and was known for having a beautiful voice. In 1995, she was blessed with her first daughter, Lianna. Later on, she moved to northern Missouri, where she married Kenny Brittain and was blessed with two more amazing kids - Trever and Aliyah Brittain, as well as bonus kids that she loved dearly. She loved her children more than anything, and spent her life trying to be the best mom she could be.
Throughout her life, Heidi had a few different career paths that she was passionate about: working as a CNA and caregiver, and property management. She was an amazing cook, and made the best comfort food - and would argue with anyone that she made the best mashed potatoes. She had such a warm heart, and took in anyone as if they were family. She could relate to anyone with no judgement, and cared deeply for everyone that was in her life.
Those left to remember and cherish her are her parents Milt and Ruth Nolting of Spirit Lake, Iowa; her children, Lianna Vermeys of Milford, Iowa, Trever (Jasmin) Brittain of Milford, Iowa, and Aliyah Brittain of Trenton, Missouri; her brother, Tim (Monique) Nolting of Portland, Oregon, and sister Lori Dios (Larry Brittain) of Trenton, Missouri; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones that she took in as her own kids.
Heidi was preceded in death by grandparents Dave and Gladys Flage, and Martin and Ruth Nolting; uncle Roger Nolting and aunt Doreen Nolting; nephew Ryan Dios; and former husband Justin Sturtz.
