Obituary of Virginia "Ginny" Yore
A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia "Ginny" Yore, age 93, of Milford, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 5, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in rural Milford.
Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Thursday, January 4, 2024, with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.
Virginia Agnes (Rathai) Yore was born on August 22, 1930, in New Richland, Minnesota, to Aloysius and Agnes (Dusa) Rathai. She graduated from Wells High School. On September 1, 1956, she married John A. Yore in Wells, Minnesota, marking the beginning of a beautiful and enduring partnership.
Their life's journey led them through various communities including Delavan and Vernon Center, Minnesota, before settling in Milford, Iowa, in 1959. Ginny was an integral part of the community, known for her warm spirit and dedication to the Rosary Altar Society. She had a love for the sun, passion for dance, appreciation for music, and enjoyed shopping.
Virginia passed away December 30, 2023 at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa at ninety-three years of age.
Ginny is survived by her devoted husband, John Yore; her children, Craig (Maxine) Anderson, Lynnette (Bill) Cook, Kimberly (Bryan) Martin and Erin Yore; nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Agnes Rathai; brothers, Roger Rathai and Leo Rathai; nephew, Shawn Rathai; sister-in-law, Leora Rathai and brother-in-law, Dean L. Johnson.
Ginny's legacy of love, kindness, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the lives of those she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
