Obituary of Bruce B. Vodraska

Mr. Bruce Vodraska, 72, of Spirit Lake, Iowa passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Service: Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation: after 5 pm Wednesday, May 22, family present from 5-7 pm, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Bruce Benjamin Vodraska was born January 1, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to Benjamin and Vera (Rossow) Vodraska. On November 15, 1957, Bruce married Linda Mae Wells of Spirit Lake. They were blessed with four daughters. On December 31, 1990, Bruce married Linda Kay (Kruger) Wieck. This was blessed by twenty-two years of shared bliss. Bruce had his own plumbing business until the fall of 2012 when he was forced to retire because of health issues. Bruce enjoyed fishing, especially cat fishing in the Minnesota River. He also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds; old cars, of which he had a 1951 Chevy and he enjoyed going on vacations with his wife. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda K.; daughters, Julie Clark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and her children Brandon (Bridget) Vodraska of Spirit Lake, Iowa and their children Tyler and Madeline, Megan Clark of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Janell Erickson of Spirit Lake and her children, Ryan (MacKenzie) Erickson - children, Braeden, Aubrey and Brynn of Lakefield, Evan (Emily) Erickson and their child, August (Gus); Austan Erickson of Bemidji, Minnesota, Joanne Hoss Triplett of Spencer, Iowa and her children, Jonathan (Katie) and their child, Zane of Glendale, Arizona, Samantha (David) Oppfelt and their children Kayden and Landon of Lake Butler, Florida and Maxwell Triplett of Ida Grove, Iowa; sister, Raejean (Denny) Tungland of Spirit lake, Iowa and their children, Lana Tungland of Spirit Lake and Lance (April) Tungland of Spirit Lake and their children Brittaney and Sydney; Extended Family: Martin (Stephanie) Wieck of Marengo, Iowa and their children Paige and Parker, Matthew (Angela) Wieck of Des Moines, Iowa and their children Payton and Keagen; mother-in-law, Kathryn Kruger of Brewster, Minnesota; brother-in-law Randy (Lorna) Kruger of Brewster, Minnesota and their children Stacy (Reed) Fricke, of Worthington, Minnesota and their child, Ryker, Crystal (Ryan) Neale of Watertown, South Dakota and Kyle Kruger of Brewster, Minnesota; ex-wife, Linda Mae Wells, of Spencer, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
