Obituary of Marilyn Moyer

A funeral service for Marilyn Moyer, 79, of Milford, formerly of Terril will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Terril, Iowa. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Terril. A visitation will be held with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford, Iowa. Marilyn Maxine Moyer, the daughter of Nellie Mae (Van Valkenburg) and Oscar Anderson, was born March 17, 1935 in Estherville, Iowa. On July 7, 1953, she was married to Wavel Daniel Moyer. The family lived in Terril for several years where Marilyn enjoyed being a farm wife. She loved gardening, canning, sewing and caring for her husband and children. Dan passed away in 1986. Marilyn worked at Berkley's for over twenty-eight years. In 1994, she was also a member of the Berkley's Ladies Softball Team. She enjoyed living life to its fullest. On February 10, 2015, Marilyn passed away at the Milford Nursing Center at seventy-nine years of age. She is survived by her children, Dan (Theresa) Moyer of Larchwood, Iowa, Cindy (Dale) Schomaker of Milford, Iowa and Susan (Roger) Reschly of Okoboji, Iowa; eight grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Moyer; son, Michael Moyer; two brothers and one sister.
