Sending my most sincere condolences to the entire Gamble family. Your mother was a very special woman. I have so many memories of her: the "lunch lady", handing out Halloween candy, and being a wonderful mother to her children as just a few. While I know that she has gone home to the Lord, she will be missed. Much love to all of you!

Where do I even begin to explain how beautiful Alice was as a daughter, taking care of her parents, as a wife to Joe, a mother and a Grandmother she was.
Alice influenced me in so many ways. I will not write them all!
She was such a good mother and always welcomed all of us back the more the merrier.
I remember when Doug was very small Grandma Alice kept him and every day Janet told me she weighed him as she was so concerned he would lose weight! Joe and Alice always welcomed Doug and Derek in their stages of life to come and stay with them.
Alice was not hard on the kids of keeping things neat and tidy and I know with each visit that I would dust clean and vacuum she never took it personally I felt she appreciated me and any help she could get!
I remember when I was into Jane Fonda video and her CD tape I recall once when Alice came to my workout area in front of the porch door and actually started to do the moves with me and said I wish I had more time for me as I need to work out!!
When I was really sick and diagnosed with Toxic Shock Syndrome she and Joe dropped everything and drove to Kansas City to take care of the boys and Dennis! She shared many things with me one afternoon at the hospital I will never forget!
I will never forget the story of Joe and a couple, I do not remember their names ,left Alice and the woman friend at a gas stop and did not realize it until they were several miles down the road got to thinking they had not hear any chatter in the back seal!! And yes they then discovered they had left the girls at the gas station.
I remember when Joe and Alice brought Granddad and Grandma Gamble to visit us in Rapid City, and we went to Sturgis, South Dakota and stopped at a BAR!! Grandpa Joe and Granddad Gamble ordered a Tom Collins!! And Alice and Grandma did not know what to do so I said Tom Collins for everyone. And ever since that date Grandpa Joe always would make Make Alice and I Tom Collins and he taught me you could keep liquor in the freezer!
I will always remember our picnics in the park!!
The best part, which is where I am now, is when she would go thru countless names until she came to the one she was talking about or to! I was freckles many of the times!!
Bottom Line she was my hero!! I love you Alice and am so glad you are now at peace and with your family and especially Dennis.
Love Debbie Lenox Gamble James!
