Obituary of Corrine Winders

Corrinne Winders was born May 15,1927, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Oleson) Nielsen in Humboldt, Iowa. Corky, as she was known by all, was a strong women and cheated death many times over the last five years as her health declined. The Lord granted her wish and gave her wings, and took her home surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-eight years of age. Throughout the years, she was an avid reader and marked many articles to share with her children to read. She enjoyed nature and worked many crossword and puzzle books that kept her mind active. After retiring from Libby Owens Ford in Mason City, she volunteered for North Iowa Medical Center and Elderbridge, until her health declined. Following the death of Rudy Nutz, whom she considered her life partner, earlier this year, she made her home with her daughter Sherry and her family in Spirt Lake. She joins her parents, husband, life partner, sisters, brother-in-laws, brother, sister-in-law and daughter who precede her in death. Corky is survived by her children Penny (Ray) Schiltz, John (Linda) Marino, LeeAnn Hogg, Sherry (Dave) Kukes and Scott (Celina) Winders; grandchildren, Robin Johnson, Jenny (Nathan) Boege, Chris (Amy) Hogg, Joe (April) Hogg, Tab and Ben Kukes, Jett (Tim Turner) and Julianne Winders. Great grandchildren Hailey, Jacob, and Emilee Junker, Ivy and Avah Hogg, Keelyn and Noah Simpson, Addison, Alexandria and Joseph Hogg. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contribution may be directed to charity of choice.
