Obituary of Delores Hanneman

Delores Dorothy Hanneman was born April 19, 1929, the daughter of Carl and Hildegard (Henning) Bartels at Hanover Township, Crawford County, Iowa. Delores was raised and educated in Charter Oak, Iowa, where she graduated high school. Delores was united in marriage to Byron Palmer Hanneman on August 31, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. The couple lived in Inglewood, California, Ricketts, Iowa and Charter Oak before moving to Spirit Lake in 1961. Delores was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. As a talented seamstress, she worked many years at Carpenter's Interiors and The Work Room. She enjoyed sewing projects, quilting, loved to sing and was active in school and church choirs. Delores enjoyed visiting many places throughout the States and was also a great cook ~ especially baking. Delores passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at eighty-four years of age. She is survived by her children, Carla Horton and her husband Mike of Omaha, NE and Len Hanneman and his wife Linda of Plymouth, Minnesota; sister, Cheryl Bartels Rose of Athens, Georgia; grandchildren, Kimberly Hedman and her husband, Paul, Kip Morrissey and her husband Christopher and Adam Triggs; great grandchildren, Aidan Morrissey, Andie Morrissey, Molly Triggs, Rhiannon Triggs and Isabelle Triggs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Byron and sister, Marilyn Rose.
