Obituary of Jack Goodell
Funeral services for Mr. Jack Goodell, 82 of Lake Park, will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery. A visitation with family present will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jack Maynard Goodell, the son of Bessie (Snow) and Glenn Goodell, was born June 4, 1933, in Excelsior Township in Dickinson County, Iowa. After graduating from high school, Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 22, 1955.
Jack lived in Garden Grove, California, Clifton, Idaho and Plymouth, Utah before settling in Lake Park, Iowa. He attended the Lake Park United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion in Lake Park. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
Jack passed away May 13, 2016 at the Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park, Iowa at eighty-two years of age.
He is survived by his brothers, Oran (LaVonne) of Alexandria, Minnesota, Don (Betty) of Lake Park, Iowa and Leon (Gladys) of Lake Park, Iowa; sisters, Joyce Monier of Sibley, Iowa, Betty Buchman of Heber Springs, Arkansas, June Butterfield of Preston, Idaho; sister-in-law, Eloise Goodell of Lake Park; several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clayton; sister, Olive Mills; brothers-in-law, Dayton Monier, Carl Sohn, Charles Buchman and Lawrence Mills; sister-in-law, Donna Goodell.
